π² How Craps Works
Craps is a fast-paced dice game where players bet on the outcome of rolls of two six-sided dice. The game is played in two main phases: the Come-Out Roll and the Point Phase.
- Come-Out Roll:
- Roll a 7 or 11 β you win immediately
- Roll a 2, 3, or 12 β you lose immediately (craps)
- Roll 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 β that number becomes your Point
- Point Phase: Roll again until either:
- You roll the Point again β you win
- You roll a 7 β you lose (called "seven out")

π Odds and House Edge
In the basic "Pass Line" bet:
- Probability of winning on Come-Out: 8/36 β 22.22%
- Probability of losing on Come-Out: 4/36 β 11.11%
- Probability of establishing a Point: 24/36 β 66.67%
- Overall chance of winning a Pass Line bet: β 49.29%
The house edge on a standard Pass Line bet is about 1.41%, making craps one of the better games in the casino for playersβif you stick to the basic bets.
π Things to Note
- There are many advanced bets in craps, but many carry worse odds than the Pass Line.
- Just like roulette, every roll is random and independent.
- Bankroll management is keyβwins can come quickly, but so can losses.
